Atomic Learning is an online technology training and professional development tool for educators. Training webinars and tutorials are available for Blackboard, Acrobat Pro, Camtasia, Creative Commons, Dropbox, Office 365, Google Apps for Education, iMovie, Photoshop, SMART board, VoiceThread, WordPress, there are nearly 50,000 step-by-step tutorials to learn from. 

This resource is available to faculty, staff & students at UAA. Select the link below and log in using your UAA username and password.

Instructor Tip: Use Atomic Learning in your Courses

Are there Atomic Learning modules that could enhance student learning in your course? Would it help your students if they reviewed how to use Microsoft Office tools or others? If so you can easily add them to a content area within Blackboard.

  1. Create a folder within any content area in your course
  2. Select Build Content > Select Atomic Learning
  3. In the Configure Tool determine settings & options for your course
  4. To Create a Playlist
    • Turn EDIT MODE off, (toggle button top right of screen)
    • Select the new Atomic Learning link 
    • Use the SEARCH features to find tutorials
    • Use the "Select your links:" tool to choose which tutorials to save 
    • Select "Preview Selections" button at far right of screen
    • If these are the correct tutorials, select SUBMIT

EduTip: Adding Atomic Learning Tutorials in Blackboard (html, tutorial with images)


Blackboard will create links to the tutorials within the content area. Students click the Playlist links and the tutorial will open in a new window and begin to play.
