Honors Academic Advising

Mentoring and advising are the keys to a successful Honors College experience. Our faculty and staff are committed to giving students individualized advice they need to make informed decisions about their academic career.

During the first four semesters of a students enrollment in the Honors College, the student will be requested to meet with the University Honors College Advisor at least once per semester to review their academic performance. Prior to registration, the student will be asked to get their proposed course schedule approved by his or her advisor.

Each student will have two academic advisors:

University Honors College Advisor: Suzanne Forster, Ph. D.
For information on the Honors Progarm, or to set up an appointment for advising, please email Suzanne Forster at smforster@uaa.alaska.edu or call 786-1057

Departmental Major Advisor:
As soon as the student selects a major, he or she will be assigned an academic advisor in that baccalaureate program. This advisor is responsible for monitoring the student's progress within the department of the declared major. If the student would like assistance with contacting their departmental advisor, they should call 786-1086, or contact their academic department directly.  Students may also visit Who is My Academic Advisor?
