Biography

Sierra Mills has worked as a clinical therapist for over seven years. She finds her work inspiring and motivating, and is grateful for the opportunity to offer support and services to those who are pursuing their academic goals and to help manage the stressors associated with school and life. She has many years of experience working with youth and adults with mental health concerns including depression, anxiety and trauma, life stressors, substance abuse and emerging mental illness, and dual diagnosis issues with co-occuring substance use and mental health.

She is excited about her recent move from Portland, OR to Anchorage, AK, and about working in Alaska. She offers counseling and case management as needed in a safe, non-threatening, and confidential setting for assistance with academics, home sickness, depression, test anxiety, relationship or family issues that are getting in the way of school work, and is also able to provide support for more serious issues such as sexual assault or trauma. In addition to her role as Counselor-in-Residence in UAA’s On-Campus Living community, she also serves a with UAA’s CARE Team
