Alaska Community Foundation Scholarship

The Alaska Community Foundation offers scholarships that are made possible by passionate community members committed to helping Alaskans pursue their education dreams. Each Scholarship has specific criteria, eligible UAA and Non-UA institutions/programs, deadlines, and required supplements. Application deadlines vary.

Global Spectrum Academic Scholarship

Global Spectrum, L.P. is pleased to offer two collegiate scholarships in the amount of $1,250 each for the fall semester of the 2015-2016 academic year. The application deadline is March 12, 2015.

PEO Chapter K Scholarship

The PEO Chapter K Scholarship is available to females attending UAA, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and a minimum class standing of Sophomore. Award amount is $1,000 ($500 a semester). Fall application deadline is June 15th, spring application deadline is October 15th.

Alaska Native Epidemiology Center Scholarship

The Alaska Native Epidemiology Center, a department of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, is pleased to announce that it will be awarding scholarships for the University of Alaska Anchorage Master's of Public Health (MPH) Program. The scholarship will include the tuition, fees, and course materials for one course offered through the distance-learning MPH Program. Kodiak Electric Association Scholarship

Kodiak Electric Association is offering 18 scholarships to students totaling $35,000. Each scholarship has specific criteria and eligible UAA (Kodiak campus) and/or Non-UAA admission/enrollment requirements. All applicants must be receiving service – or have an immediate family member receiving service – from Kodiak Electric Association. The deadline to apply is February 20, 2015.

The Export Council of Alaska Scholarship

The Export Council of Alaska is offering scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are Alaska residents and plan to pursue a degree in International Studies. A total of $5,000 will be distributed among students who are awarded the scholarship.

American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska Scholarship

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Alaska is pleased to announce their 2014 Scholarship Program. The ACEC will award up to $1,000 in a statewide scholarship competition. Deadline to apply is March 9, 2015.

Alaska Community Foundation Scholarship

The Alaska Community Foundation is proud to support Alaska students in their educational and career pursuits, through a number of scholarship opportunities: from students pursuing technology education, to nursing students. ACLU Alaska Foundation Scholarship

The ACLU Alaska foundation is pleased to offer The Joan Hamilton Memorial Scholarship: a $2500 award to a post secondary school. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist Alaska students who wish to pursue a career related to law in which she or he will advocate for Alaska Native rights and defend the civil liberties of the peoples of rural Alaska. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Scholarship

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium Scholarship is proud to support Alaska students interested in the healthcare field. Deadline to apply is June 20, 2014 by 4:30 p.m.

Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship

The Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship provides scholarships for full-time undergraduate or graduate students, currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in the environmental (or natural) sciences, environmental technology, or environmental policy. There is one $1,000 award per year. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

Alaska Space Grant Program Scholarship

The Alaska Space Grant Program is offering scholarships and fellowships to students (U.S. Citizens) majoring in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics). Application requirements and award amounts vary between scholarships and fellowships. Deadlines to apply vary.

Alaska Power Association Scholarship

The Alaska Power Association is offering $1,000 scholarship opportunities and textbook stipends of up to $500 for Alaska residents attending college in Alaska who are studying engineering. Deadline to apply is May 9, 2014.

The Bill Countryman Scholarship

Each year, Credit Union 1 is proud to offer the Bill Countryman Scholarship program to qualified Alaskan applicants. Application period: January 1- April 1 of each year.

Edward and Anna Range Schmidt Charitable Trust Scholarship

The Edward and Anna Range Schmidt Charitable Trust offers grants and emergency financial assistance for Alaska Native students of Earth and Environmental Science (internship support, travel and/or expenses related to workshops and science fairs, support needed to secure employment in science-related fields or emergency needs). Alaska Water Well Association Scholarship

The Alaska Water Well Association (AWWA) is offering an annual $500 award to an undergraduate who is an Alaska resident and is enrolled full time. Deadline to apply is May 5th of the year for which fall enrollment is planned.

American Legion 40/8 Scholarship

Mat-Su Health Foundation Scholarship

The Mat-Su Health Foundation Scholarship is open to students who have a primary residence in Mat-Su and have a major or other course of study linked to healthcare. Applications for Vocational Scholarships are accepted year-round. 2015/2016 application period to be announced.

New Beginnings Scholarship for Anchorage Women

The GWFC Anchorage Woman’s Club is pleased to invite students to apply for the New Beginnings Scholarship. The scholarship is geared toward women who:

  • Have recently returned to school or plan to return to school
  • Have been a resident of Alaska for at least 5 years and intend to make Alaska their home
  • Currently reside in Anchorage
  • Demonstrate that furthering education will enhance job opportunities
  • Are determined to improve themselves and enhance the Anchorage community
  • Need financial assistance to reach their educational goals

The Nick Begich Scholarship Intern Fund

The Nick Begich Scholarship Intern Fund was created in 1977 on the ideals of the late Alaskan Congressman Nicholas J. Begich. As a teacher he believed that education was both a right and privilege. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2015.

P.E.O. Sisterhood - Philanthropic Educational Organization

P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College; and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.

P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), one of the pioneer societies for women, was founded on Jan. 21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Originally a small campus friendship society, P.E.O. soon blossomed to include women off campus.

Today, P.E.O. has grown from that tiny membership of seven to almost a quarter of a million members in chapters in the United States and Canada. The P.E.O. Sisterhood is passionate about its mission: promoting educational opportunities for women. Our sisterhood proudly makes a difference in women's lives with six philanthropies that include ownership of a two-year women's college, Cottey College, and five programs that provide higher educational assistance:

The P.E.O. Sisterhood PCE is a grant program providing financial assistance to women whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. They must demonstrate a need for financial assistance with their educational expenses to improve their marketable skills for employment. The grant is not intended to be used in covering the cost of prerequisite courses which may be necessary for securing admission to an educational program nor by those needing further education, beyond the current program, to gain employment. Abbot & Fenner Business Consultants Scholarship

The Abbot & Fenner Business Consultants are committed to continuing their efforts at helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed through annual scholarship awards of $1,000. Deadline to apply is June 15, 2015.

AfterCollege currently offers over a dozen, major-specific, and inclusive scholarships that students may be eligible for. Deadlines to apply vary.

American Welding Society Scholarship

The American Welding Society offers scholarships available to students preparing for a career in the welding and related joining technologies. Deadline to apply is March 1st of each year.

Big John's Plumbing Scholarship

Big John's Plumbing is pleased to offer a $1,000 Business Scholarship to a student planning to take business related courses. Deadline to apply is July 25th of each year.

Big Sun Scholarship 2015

The purpose of the Big Sun Scholarship 2015 is to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do our part, we are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. Deadline to apply is June 19, 2015.

Campus Explorer Exclusive Scholarships

The Campus Explorer Exclusive Scholarships award a $1,000 scholarship every month. Apply the 1st through the 30th of every month.

Clubs of America Scholarship Award for Career Success Scholarship

 The Clubs of America Scholarship Award for Career Success offers a $1000 award annually. Any current student of an accredited U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is welcome to apply. Deadline is August 31st, 2015.

Annual Academic Business Scholarship

The Annual Academic Business Scholarship is for students who are pursuing business related academic majors. Award: $1,000 per year. Deadline is April 1st of each year.

Electrical Generating Systems Association Scholarship

The Electrical Generating Systems Association is offering up to eight (8) David I. Coren Memorial scholarships to full-time students with a declared major related to the On-Site Power Generation industry. Giva Semi-Annual Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award

The Giva Semi-Annual Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award, is currently offering a $1000 scholarship for anyone attending a college or university worldwide. Deadlines are June 1st & December 1st of each year.

Government Finance Officers Association

The Government Finance Officers Association, is currently offering several scholarships with awards ranging from $7,000 to $12,000. Individual scholarship requirements vary. The Deadline to apply is February 20, 2015.

Graduate Program Scholarship

The Graduate Program Scholarships are offering $1,000 scholarships to graduate students or recent graduate students. Awarded quarterly.

Institute for Humane Studies Scholarship

The Institute for Humane Studies offers fellowships/scholarships to students with liberty-advancing research interests. Students may be undergraduate/graduate. Deadlines to apply vary.

Lexington Law Scholarship

 The Lexington Law Scholarship Program is offering two annual scholarships totaling $10,000. Each semester (spring and fall), one recipient will receive $5,000 to the institution of their choice. Deadline to apply is February 7, 2015.

Look Twice, Save A Life Scholarship is proud to introduce a new scholarship promoting motorcycle safety among students. The look Twice, Save a Life Scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to a student who is currently attending or planning to attend college or some form of higher education. The scholarship will be awarded annually for the spring semester. Deadline to apply is December 1st of each year.

The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance Scholarship

The Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance is proud to award $4,000 to one student each semester whose life has been impacted by cancer. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2014 for spring 2015 & March 31, 2015 for fall 2015.

Marshal Scholarships

The Marshall Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded annually to at least 40 young College graduate U.S. citizens. Successful candidates are able to study a wide range of subjects for a higher degree at any of Britain's universities. The 2015 Application will be available late spring 2014.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution awards multiple scholarships to students dedicated to the pursuit of degrees in diverse disciplines including, history, law, nursing, and education. Deadlines to apply and award amounts vary.

NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation

The NAWIC Founders' Scholarship Foundation requires applicants to be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program, and have at least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors are not eligible. Deadline to apply is February 28, of each year.

Novus Biologicals Scholarships

The Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program is awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science-related field twice a year. A $1500 scholarship will be warded to one student for the Fall and Spring semesters. Deadline to apply for Fall 2015 is July 10, 2015. Nursing School Scholarship

The Nursing School Scholarship is now offering a $1000 award annually. This award is available to any student participating in a qualified undergraduate, graduate or certificate level nursing program. Deadline is August 31, of each year.

Public Health Scholarship

The Public Health Scholarship makes it possible to offset some of the costs of earning a public health degree by tapping into a variety of public health scholarship. Application processes, deadlines and award amounts vary.

The Reeves Law Group Scholarship

The Reeves Law Group is pleased to announce the continuation of their scholarship contest. One student will be awarded $2,500 to be invested in his or her educational costs.The 2015 contest deadline will be announced January 15, 2015.

The Remote DBA Scholarship

Remote DBA will award a scholarship of $3,500 to an outstanding college student pursuing studies in computer science or computer engineering with a demonstrated interest in the fields of database administration or data science. To be considered for the 2015 award, entries must be received no later than March 15, 2015.

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

The Veterans United Foundation Scholarship primary goal is to assist military service members and their families by awarding up to twenty $2,000 per semester to help pay for tuition and books. Spring 2015 application period: March 15 - April 30. Fall 2015 application period: September 15 - October 31.

Cliffside Malibu Student Scholarship

Cliffside Malibu Student Scholarships offer awards to students of many different interests and majors are invited to participate. This scholarship is open to high school seniors, undergraduate students, as well as graduate students. Award amount is up to $8500. This scholarship is ongoing and will be awarded each semester.

COIT Clean Living Scholarship

The COIT Clean Living Scholarship is offering a $1500 award to the best short essay submission that answers the question, "How do you secure your security deposit?" Deadline to apply is January 15, 2015.
