The Peak Trust Company brand of estate planning firms appointed Anchorage attorney Julie Wrigley, a member of the board of directors, as Audit Committee Chair.

Wrigley joined the board in November 2023 with the goal of providing a legal and industry-specific perspective to organizational oversight, rooted in fostering the next generation of business leaders in this space.

“I am motivated to improve the community in which I work and play,” says Wrigley. “What an honor to be able to work with a company that embodies the same values.”

Wrigley worked as an estate planning business lawyer for eighteen years before transitioning to academia in 2017 at UAA. She recently received tenure as Associate Professor of Real Estate and was appointed to the role of Interim Associate Dean at the College of Business and Public Policy.

As a colon cancer survivor, she serves on the national board of PALTOWN Development Foundation and volunteers with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. She is also working on obtaining her pilot’s license.

“Julie’s career and volunteer work demonstrate her unwavering commitment to service in this industry,” says Matthew Blattmachr, president and CEO of Peak Trust Company. “That made for an obvious fit with Peak Trust. While she’s a tremendous resource from a business perspective, her dedication to fostering community is one of her most admirable traits. We’re thrilled to have her.”

In her new role as the board’s Audit Committee Chair, Wrigley acknowledges the great strides made by her predecessors. “The board before me set a very high bar,” she explains. “My objective is to build off this strong foundation and do my best to not only uphold what they’ve created, but also contribute to the overall growth of the company.”

Wrigley says her career has been guided by the motto of her alma mater, Willamette University College of Law, “Non nobis solum nati sumus.” It translates as, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born,” emphasizing the responsibility of each individual to contribute to the welfare of others. Wrigley says this drives her commitment to preparing and empowering young adults to enter the trust field.

She reflects, “Seeing Peak Trust flourish and witnessing not only the company’s accomplishments but how it continues to have its eye on the future is inspiring to me. To be a part of that journey is truly exciting.”
