Sept. 28: Decolonizing Academia webinar

by UAA Difficult Dialogues Initiative  |

The Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center in partnership with Princeton University’s Office of Diversity & Inclusion and Clarkson University will host a two-part webinar series on Decolonizing Academe. Please register for one or both webinars. UAA's Difficult Dialogues Initiative was a co-founder of the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center and is providing support for this series.

Join us Sept. 21, noon–1:30 p.m. AKDT for a webinar featuring Rodney Coates (Miami University) and Stephen Quaye (The Ohio State University) on Decolonizing Academe. Coates and Quaye will discuss their decolonization frameworks and engage in an audience Q&A. Register at tiny.cc/Academe.

Also, join us on Sept. 28, noon–1:30 p.m. AKDT for a workshop about putting Coates’ and Quaye’s decolonizing frameworks into practice. Hear from Jennifer Ball (Clarkson University), Brighid Dwyer (Princeton University), Kelly Maxwell (University of Michigan) and Jacki Rodriguez (Occidental College) about how they put these frameworks into practice to create more socially just dialogues, re-center traditionally marginalized voices, and challenge longstanding models of power and privilege. Register at tiny.cc/dialogue.
