Submit a Report

Reports to the Office of Equity and Compliance can be made in person, via phone, email, or online by submitting an incident report. When a report is made, our staff will reach out to the Complainant and provide the resources and information necessary to ensure safety and support. A Formal Investigation will only be initiated with consent of the Complainant or when the University believes necessary.

In Compliance with Title IX, the Office of Equity and Compliance receives reports of harassment and/or discrimination regarding students, faculty, staff, or campus visitors. By making a report, those experiencing harassment or discrimination will receive support and/or accommodations and are provided the information necessary regarding their rights and resources to be able to make an informed decision moving forward. Reporting to the Office of Equity and Compliance helps to facilitate a safe and healthy educational and work environment in which educational programs, employment, and activities are free of discrimination and harassment. The office administers and ensures compliance with Title IX and University policies, procedures, and programs on equal opportunity, discrimination, affirmative action, harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, and retaliation.

    Title IX Turns 50!

    June 23rd, 2022, marked the 50th anniversary of Title IX being passed into law and helping create gender equality in sport. Before Title IX, women were overlooked in sports and were not nearly as supported as male athletes were. Title IX aimed to change this narrative and states that no one in the United States will be excluded from programs or denied the proper benefits for programs "on the basis of sex." 

    What happens when 37 words change everything? ESPN released "37 Words," a four-part ESPN docuseries from filmmakers Dawn Porter and Nicole Newnham. It tells the story of how the 37 words of Title IX transformed into a force that shaped American culture:

    "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
