Drawing

Student working on sketch

The UAA Drawing Program begins with a rigorous exploration of traditional methods of representation to strengthen skills in seeing and thinking. Students are exposed to contemporary styles and ideas about Drawing throughout the curriculum. The Drawing Studio’s still life collection is a significant resource that includes life size skeletons, molds of human hands, feet and head, plus access to the ARLIS collection of Alaskan furs, bird mounts and skulls. Advanced and Experimental courses strive to develop a student’s personal creativity and maturity of expression.
