Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Social Sciences Advising Pathway
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) Interdisciplinary Advising Track in Humanities and Social Sciences requires additional course work in the humanities and social sciences and offers greater flexibility in elective credits, with a focus upon broad-based achievement in preparation for graduate school, the corporate or business worlds, or education. It is designed particularly for those students who have already completed a two-year Associate's degree, transfer students from other universities, and non-traditional students who have previously completed university credits.

Graduation Requirements: Minimum of 120 credits, at least 39 upper-division credits, including 24 upper-division credits in residence.
Complete the General University Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees.
Complete the General Education Requirements for Baccalaureate Degrees.
Complete the following major requirements:
Area of emphasis: Satisfy requirements for a Minor in Humanities or Social Sciences (15-18 credits)
Electives: Complete 21 upper division credits in the approved Humanities and Social Sciences with the following Prefixes AKNS; ANTH; GEOG; ENG; HIST; JPC; FREN; GER; JPN; SPAN PHIL; PS; PSY; SOC; and WGS. Includes Integrative Capstone Course.
Total: 36-39 credits
Advantages: (1) students will be mentored by the department of emphasis and hence have a built in advisor for track (see the SEVEN steps for Interdisciplinary degrees) this would be a great advantage for streamlining the BA. (2) less threatening to disciplinary programs because it relies upon existing minors.
