Slideshow: Dental hygiene program recognizes Orange Shirt Day

The clinicians and students in the dental hygiene program are wearing orange shirts today to recognize Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters.
Orange Shirt Day is an annual event meant to open the discussion about residential schools, which assistant professor Jessica Ross says is important for the students to be aware of in the dental clinic.
"I teach the students about trauma in the Clinical Seminar II course," says Ross. "The course provides them with examples of how trauma can impact a patient's experience and discusses a culturally responsive approach to care in response." See the photos below:
