Hiring Orientation Leaders!

The New Student Orientation office is hiring! We are hiring for our Orientation Leaders (Wolfpack Leaders), these positions help support new students start their journey at UAA, facilitate Howl Days, and support new student programming! These positions will begin training in mid-March and continue through the summer, with an opportunity to continue during the 2021/2022 academic year. Students are welcome to apply online!

Virtual NACA Live, Feb. 23–26

UAA Student Activities has purchased an Unlimited Pass to 2021 Virtual NACA Live which allows access for all UAA students, staff, and faculty to participate in the conference! Virtual NACA Live is a great opportunity for student leaders and professional staff across the institution to continue developing skills, competencies, and network with others in Higher Education from around the country.

The Student Affairs End of Year Report for Academic Year 2020 is now available online. It chronicles the achievements and improvements you accomplished this past year, highlighting how Student Affairs responded to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Celebrating Black History Month

History and heritage months provide an opportunity to learn about, appreciate and celebrate our diverse cultural identities. This includes celebrating our own identities, as well as learning about cultures that are different from our own. In making space to discuss the struggles and triumphs of those who came before us, we affirm the contributions that all peoples make toward the ongoing creation of not only American society, but the broader human experience.

ANSEP ConocoPhillips Alumni Fund raises $132,340!

The annual ANSEP ConocoPhillips ANSEP Alumni fundraiser received $132,340 in scholarships and programmatic support for the ANSEP students statewide! ConocoPhillips provided $50,000 in match money. A portion of the fund will be used to support ANSEP Acceleration Academy students. ANSEP Acceleration Academy students are going from eighth grade to STEM B.S. degrees in six years or less.

Announcing new UA Board of Regents appointees

Today, Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced two appointments to the Board of Regents. We are delighted to welcome back Regent Dale Anderson, re-appointed to an 8-year term, and new Regent Ralph Seekins, a well-known Fairbanks business owner, UAF business leader of the year [1990] and former state senator.

UAA spring 2021 semester COVID-19 update

I hope your spring 2021 semester is off to a great start. The Office of Environmental Health and Safety wishes to reiterate the processes and procedures in place to safeguard the well-being of our community from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. As you are likely aware, we have implemented a number of measures and support resources to help prevent the transmission of the virus and comply with guidance, recommendations and mandates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local governments.
