On Jan. 11, 2019, the University of Alaska Anchorage was informed that its programs involving initial licensure within its School of Education are no longer accredited.

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. George Geistauts, Professor Emeritus of Business Administration. After close to 40 years at UAA, Professor Geistauts is leaving behind a legacy of teaching, scholarship and service that is commensurate with the size of Alaska, his beloved adoptive home.

"The Big Wild Soul of Terrence Cole: An Eclectic Collection to Honor Alaska’s Public Historian," edited by Frank Soos and Mary Ehrlander, is now available online and at select bookstores.

Nominations for UAA's fall 2019 and spring 2020 honorary degree awards are currently being accepted. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31, 2019.
