Seawolf Hockey returned to the ice in spectacular fashion, playing against Simon Fraser University to a packed house of green-and-gold-wearing fans on the edge of their seats.

The grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Alaska Native Education program will help the Bristol Bay Teaching and Learning Collaborative facilitate teacher development and retention, enhance positive engagement between the communities and schools, and provide culturally responsive education courses to teachers from outside the region.

Thirty-six Alaska artists have been named recipients of the 2022 Individual Artist Awards. An annual initiative managed by the Rasmuson Foundation, this year’s awardees include six UAA alumni and two faculty — three receiving $18,000 fellowships and five winning $7,500 project awards.
