CCEL announces 2018 Dr. Alex Hills Engineering and Civic Engagement Award recipient

This year's Dr. Alex Hills Engineering and Civic Engagement Award goes to two UAA undergraduate students. Canyon Lewis (civil engineering) and Claire Lubke (biological sciences) will use the $2,500 award to develop an autonomous aeroponic garden system. The students will work on the project with faculty advisor Todd Petersen, associate professor of electrical engineering.

CCEL announces recipient of 2018 Second Bridge Scholarship Award

The Center for Community Engagement and Learning (CCEL) is pleased to announce Cole Murphy as the recipient of the 2018 Second Bridge Scholarship Award. Cole's project, "Capacity & Services Development at Alaska Seeds of Change,” combines the interest in farming with the mission of empowering and advancing at-risk youth.

UAA and ASD to open second Alaska Middle College School

The Alaska Middle College is a partnership between UAA and the Anchorage School District (ASD). The middle college offers Alaska high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while also obtaining their high school diploma.

2017 Campus Climate Survey results now available

The results of the University of Alaska’s 2017 Campus Climate Survey are now available for review on the Title IX compliance website. The report provides current prevalence estimates projecting the number of university students that experienced sexual misconduct, dating violence, stalking/harassment or sexual assault.

IT Services emailing password expiration warnings to all UAA users

UAA IT Services has begun sending password expiration warning emails to all students, staff and faculty. The first email will be sent 14 days before their password is set to expire, and again two days before if it hasn't been changed yet. The format of the email customers can expect to see is below.

More than 1,200 graduate from UAA this spring

The University of Alaska Anchorage will celebrate the spring Class of 2018 graduates at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 6, in the Alaska Airlines Center. The ceremony honors the accomplishments of more than 1,200 undergraduate, graduate and professional school students from the Anchorage campus. Together, they join the nearly 1,100 UAA students who graduated in the fall.
