UAA announces winning proposals for 2018 ConocoPhillips Arctic Science and Engineering Endowment award

Faculty and students at the University of Alaska Anchorage continue to make important strides in Arctic research, thanks to the support of ConocoPhillips Alaska. UAA announced today that five proposals have been selected to receive ConocoPhillips Arctic Science and Engineering Endowment awards totaling more than $440,000.

UAA’s fall commencement celebrates more than 1,100 graduates

The University of Alaska Anchorage will celebrate the graduates of the fall Class of 2017 at 1 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 17, in the Alaska Airlines Center. This ceremony honors the accomplishments of more than 1,100 undergraduate, graduate and professional school students from the Anchorage campus, more than 120 of whom will graduate with master’s or doctoral degrees.

The Alaska Arts and Culture Foundation, in partnership with the Alaska State Council on the Arts, recently announced the recipients of the 2017 Alaska Literary Awards and Connie Boochever Fellowships. UAA student design wins place on state license plates

UAA student Anita Laulainen designed Alaska's newest license plate. The aurora-themed plate will debut next year as Alaska's first "artistic license plate."
