UAA expands recreation options following Dome collapse

Following the recent collapse of The Dome, the University of Alaska Anchorage, the UAA Athletic Department and the Alaska Airlines Center are teaming to provide a temporary home for the facility’s administration and offering expanded scheduling options for its own on-campus recreation facilities.

Students receive 2017 Alex Hills award to design snow-making system for Arctic Valley

This year's award goes to Bryan Sooter, a UAA Civil Engineering undergraduate student, who along with fellow Engineering students James Matthews, Jesse Miller, Julia Mackey, Isaac Williams and Kyle Alvarado, submitted a successful proposal for the project, "Arctic Valley Snow Making System." The students will be working with faculty advisor Osama Abaza, professor of civil engineering.
