AAPI month is celebrated in May but we can't wait for it! TRIO is celebrating this month while our students are still on campus before summer break. On Tuesday, April 12, from 1-3 p.m., we will have a guest speaker from the Pacific Community of Alaska conduct a guided discussion on the impact of their program in the Anchorage area. Students and staff are welcome to attend. Space is limited so please contact Whitney if you would like to bring your class.

Alaska Airlines has generously donated vouchers to be used for special projects at UAA that support the mission of the university. UAA departments are invited to submit a project proposal that could benefit from the use of these tickets. The proposal period is now open through April 30, 2022.

Lucy's Restaurant at UAA is now open for reservations and curbside pickup! Have a unique dining experience at Lucy's, located at Lucy Cuddy Hall on the main UAA Campus. Lucy's is a restaurant with meals produced and served by students of the UAA Culinary Arts and Hospitality Administration program.

Take time to nominate your colleagues for the Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence! The program is accepting nominations for the 2022 awards now through Friday, April 29. These awards recognize UAA employees for extraordinary work and dedication to our students and university community.

The UAA Office of Research is working toward developing an NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Proposal. We are targeting a multi-disciplinary REU site that requires a common coherent theme across disciplines. Our current working theme is Research Experience in Cold Climate Engineering, and Science (RECESS).
