Seawolf Shuttle paused for 2020-21 academic year

Because the majority of classes this fall will take place via alternate delivery with limited face-to-face courses and plans for the spring ’21 semester remain under review, all Seawolf Shuttle services will be paused for the 2020-21 academic year.

Now is the time to place textbooks and other course materials on reserve for your students at the UAA/APU Consortium Library. With education costs on the rise, considering textbook affordability is an opportunity for us to support our students and course reserves is one way to enhance student success.

College During COVID: Will UAA athletic teams compete this fall?

On July 17, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) CEO Board made a unanimous decision to suspend all fall athletic competition until at least Nov. 30 due to the ongoing and increasing risks associated with the pandemic.

College During COVID: How do I order textbooks for fall semester?

Starting in the Fall 2020 semester, the UAA bookstore will be facilitated through an online platform powered by Akademos, a national leader in online and hybrid bookstore solutions. Visit the UAA Online Bookstore to order course materials. Seawolf gear and branded merchandise is still available for purchase online as well.

College During COVID: How is UAA collecting information about the presence of COVID-19 on campus?

UAA has a plan for reporting and tracking COVID-19 cases on campus. In brief, if you have been in UAA facilities within 48 hours of a COVID-positive test, displaying COVID symptoms or are part of an investigation being conducted by public health personnel, please call 907-205-6941 and email the Environmental Health & Safety Department to start the process. Case management will be supported by environmental health as well as public health contact tracers.

College During COVID: What is the Student Emergency Fund?

The UAA Student Emergency Fund was established 20 years ago to help students experiencing a financial emergency due to unexpected events, such as loss of housing, an unanticipated medical bill or paying utilities. Since the pandemic crisis began, UAA has received over 340 applications requesting financial assistance from students ranging in need from helping to pay for academic course materials and technology to covering rent and purchasing food.

College During COVID: Updates to testing, travel and other policy guidance

On Aug. 11, the new State of Alaska travel mandate goes into effect. The changes to the state mandate mean that the university also needs to update its guidance in three areas: student testing; university travel; and campus entry restrictions.
