Kaladi Brothers Cafe will be open from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. starting Monday, Feb. 7.

Conversation Café is a facilitated workshop and dialogue space where members of the UAA community can unpack how race, gender and sexuality show up in our current society. We are often told to prioritize self-care and mental health, but this is a small, individualized solution to a complex set of issues. This conversation café will be a dialogue and workshop focusing on how capitalism, grind culture, and systems of oppression undermine our ability to achieve wellness. This event is open to all.

Priority registration for Summer 2022 begins February 14. If you are having to answer student questions about registration, you may find this session very helpful. We will discuss registration eligibility, priority registration, dates and deadlines, overrides, waitlists, troubleshooting and useful Banner screens. We will make sure to cover any details unique to summer registration. Please save the date, and we look forward to seeing you there!

UAA is a campus affiliate of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), an international leadership organization that works with colleges, universities and government agencies to create communities of belonging, increase cultural competence and eliminate racism and other forms of oppression.

UAA Education Abroad is an opportunity for UAA students to study abroad or participate in an internship or service learning experience in another country while still receiving academic credit towards their UAA degree! Disrupt Aging Classroom is a two-hour, interactive curriculum that challenges students to examine their aging perceptions and think about how the growing aging population is relevant to their personal lives and future careers.

Join ISER on Tuesday, February 8 from 12-1 pm for a seminar presented by Dr. Ralph Townsend, professor of economics. While all of the US is seeing significant demographic changes that will shape the workforce over the next 20 years, these changes are especially significant in Alaska.
