This video game lets players 'go fish,' sustainably

When the Alaska Sealife Center celebrates World Oceans Day on June 8, visitors will have a chance to go fishing—virtually—using a new video game that showcases how a fishery can last for the long haul.

In Class of 2013, A.A. and nursing degrees are most popular

Sunday's UAA Commencement ceremony at the Sullivan Arena was the obvious pinnacle of an academic year and a personal achievement for graduates. UAA conferred 2,421 degrees on 2,315 graduates.* Significant as the numbers are, they don't really tell the story of the Class of 2013. Getting your arms around more than 2,000 graduation stories is a tall order, so here are some of the highlights.

UAA graduates more Ph.D.s in clinical-community psychology with a rural indigenous emphasis

For the second year in a row, UAA has graduated two doctoral candidates in clinical-community psychology with a rural indigenous emphasis. UAA celebrates the Class of 2013, May 5

The University of Alaska Anchorage will celebrate the 2,315 graduates of the Class of 2013 at the annual commencement ceremony Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. at the Sullivan Arena. Emil Notti and Tom Sexton will receive honorary degrees. M. Hilary Davies and Michael T. Turner will be recognized with emeriti status.
