In a message to the UAA community, Chancellor Sandeen wrote, "A few minutes ago the Trustees of the California State University System appointed me the next president of California State University, East Bay. While I am sad to leave this wonderful university and my friends and colleagues, I am excited to take on a new challenge at another public, open-access, urban-metropolitan university very similar to the University of Alaska Anchorage — one that is just miles from where I grew up and close to my family."

The Title IX Advisor position is critical to the success of the Title IX program at the University of Alaska. The university is building a roster of advisors for complainants and respondents. Selected applicants will ensure all parties in Title IX hearings have an equal opportunity to conduct cross-examination of parties and witnesses through the use of an advisor. *This recruitment is open internally to current UA employees or those otherwise eligible to apply to internal postings.

The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees has appointed Cathy A. Sandeen, Ph.D., to serve as president of California State University, East Bay (CSUEB). Sandeen currently serves as chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).

The UAA Student Union will be host to early/absentee voting Monday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is important to note that the building WILL NOT be open for regular business those days.
