As the University of Alaska prepares to launch the largest public fundraising effort in state history, fundraising campaigns Save UAA Gymnastics and Save Seawolf Hockey are still going strong. Both gymnastics and hockey are hoping to see the same success as UAA’s skiing program, which was similarly planned for elimination until supporters successfully raised two years of operating expenses.

UA Board of Regents extends fundraising deadlines for gymnastics and hockey teams

At its meeting on Feb. 25, the University of Alaska Board of Regents passed two motions focused on UAA hockey and gymnastics. The motions extended the fundraising deadlines for the two sports, allowing for automatic reinstatement if fundraising targets are met.

UAA achieves bronze-level recognition as Military Friendly School

UAA has earned the 2021–22 Bronze Military Friendly School designation. This marks the 13th consecutive year UAA has been recognized as Military Friendly and the university's first time earning bronze-level distinction.
