Housed within UAA's Facilities and Campus Services Department, the Office of Sustainability plays a vital role in creating a sustainable and energy-efficient campus, which not only saves the university money but helps keep students, faculty and staff cool in the summer and cozy in the winter.

UAA earned high marks for its undergraduate business, engineering and computer science programs in the 2021 Best Colleges rankings, released by U.S. News and World Report this week.

During their first in-person lab of the semester, UAA Medical Assisting Program students learned how to sterilize medical equipment. While most courses have shifted to alternate delivery this fall, in-person labs are still being offered for some fields in which hands-on learning is considered critical.

Kim Mahoney, associate vice chancellor of Facilities and Campus Services, and her team are busy this fall transitioning all of UAA’s Anchorage campus buildings to a new online access control system that will allow students, faculty and staff to access buildings with a swipe of their WOLFcard.
