In late 2018, longtime food writer and creative writing alumna Amy O’Neill Houck took over as co-editor and co-publisher for local food magazine Edible Alaska, one of 90 independently-owned publications that’s part of the Edible Communities network.

Disability Support Services recently debuted a wayfinding app to make campus more accessible for blind and low-vision students. UAA is the first university worldwide to map an entire campus with state-of-the-art beacon-based technology.
