Capitol Report for April 1, 2022

This week a COVID-19 breakout in the Capitol caused significant delays in progress for both the House and the Senate. As early as Monday, the House began to cancel floor sessions - a trend that lasted all week.

Fall adoptions deadline extended to April 4

The deadline to submit Fall textbooks has been extended to April 4. As you are submitting course material adoptions to the UAA Online Bookstore, we wanted to make sure you had access to different available resources.

Faculty: Please RSVP for commencement ceremonies

Faculty, you are invited to participate in UAA's spring 2022 commencement ceremonies and the Reunion Commencement at the Alaska Airlines Center. The ceremonial hooding of master's and doctoral degree candidates will be included in each commencement.

Seawolf Tracks (Navigate) App updated - What to do if error appears

Recently, the student portal for Navigate (Seawolf Tracks) was updated to accommodate new software capabilities. As the student portal is also the platform for the mobile app "Navigate", there has been an unintended side-effect, where some students have now reported the app cannot connect to the network.

IT Alert: Notice of ongoing network maintenance to support better cyber security

In an effort to increase UAA’s cyber security posture, IT Services will be taking steps to further reduce malicious actors’ ability to gain access to our network. While we are working very hard to minimize any discernable impacts, there is always some potential that employees may experience issues accessing legitimate resources.

Capitol Report for March 28, 2022

Last week the House Finance Committee met to take up operating budget amendments. After four days of discussion, on Thursday the House Finance Committee passed out an amended operating budget which now goes to the House floor for debate.

Real Estate Summer Workshop for high school students

UAA’s Real Estate Management + Investment (REM+I) Workshop is a three-day, interactive opportunity for high school students to explore career and educational opportunities in real estate management and learn how and why people invest in income-producing real estate.

Opening campus more widely

Starting April 4, students and staff will be able to access most campus buildings during the day without a WolfCard.

Migration to new VPN system delayed for students
