Current and prospective aquatic farmers in Alaska have a valuable new resource to guide them through submitting, amending, renewing or transferring an aquatic farm application. UAF's Alaska Sea Grant and NOAA Fisheries Alaska Region have launched a web portal and printable manual to assist applicants with the aquatic farm leasing and permitting process.

As winter approaches and road conditions worsen, I am providing an update about our policies surrounding inclement weather and campus closures. Please note that we have established new policies in response to questions about how weather-related closures affect those who can work remotely.

Nominations are now open for the 2022 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. This is the most prestigious single award made annually by the University of Alaska Foundation’s Board of Directors. Nominations are being accepted by an online application — completed and received no later than Dec. 1, 2021.
