UAA Chancellor Search update

The UAA Chancellor Search Committee has completed its first review of candidates for the next UAA chancellor. The committee evaluated numerous applications from a diverse and highly-qualified pool, and will meet with many of the candidates to learn more about them.

GER assessment needs your students' written work

As part of UAA’s regular GER assessment process and in preparation for UAA’s October 2021 NWCCU mid-cycle review site visit, a committee of faculty members representing all UAA colleges will be assessing the following GER student learning outcome: Communicate effectively in a variety of contexts and formats. We will be focusing on written communication. For that, we need your help.

Feedback requested on draft institutional accreditation mid-cycle evaluation report

We kindly request your feedback on the draft of UAA’s Mid-Cycle Evaluation report. Feedback from all UAA faculty, staff and students is welcome! The report and a feedback survey are available on UAA’s Institutional Accreditation website. A complete proof including additional formatting will be completed at a later point, so we are not asking for proofreading or wordsmithing at this time. Please see the context and questions below.

Wellness breaks for spring canceled; wellness workshops coming soon

Students in the Department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation will be leading several wellness breaks for employees of UAA and the contact tracers workforce this Spring 2021 semester. Join these quick 30-minute Zoom activities designed to help employees de-stress, stretch out, get up and move, and improve overall wellness through a variety of activities designed around a multitude of dimensions. These wellness breaks are also a great way to stay connected to your co-workers and the UAA employee community. Now more than ever we are realizing the importance of self-care, overall wellness, and staying socially connected to others. You are not alone. We are all in this together so let's come together in the best way we can to stay wellthy.

Your Mail-In Ballot is on its way!

Ballots for this spring's Anchorage Municipal Ballot are on their way to registered Anchorage voters! Check your registration; if you are registered to vote in Anchorage, your ballot was mailed to you on March 15. Drop off or mail in your ballot on or before April 6.

UAA Ski Team finishes fourth at NCAA National Championships

Astrid Stav capped off a great week of skiing by the University of Alaska Anchorage with a runner-up finish in the freestyle to lead the Seawolves to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA National Championships in New Hampshire.

Cashiering is now located in Eugene Short Hall

Cashiering is now open for business in Eugene Short Hall , suite 102, on the Anchorage campus. Current WolfCards are required for entry to ESH. Due to the pandemic, payments made via UAOnline are encouraged. Cash and check payments are accepted by appointment only at this time. To make an appointment for cash payments or to get a new Wolfcard, please call 907-786-1440, option 6.

Free COVID-19 testing site on Anchorage campus every other Thursday

The Municipality of Anchorage will be hosting a drive-up/walk-up COVID-19 testing site on campus every other Thursday, starting March 11. This free service will take place in the West Lot, at the corner of Providence Drive and Lake Otis Parkway, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. UAA students are encouraged to come get tested, even if they are not experiencing any symptoms. Employees and the general public will also be welcome. Submitting a sample will be even faster if people pre-register at visit-healthcare.com.
