Update about UAA mask policy

I'm writing to inform you that UAA is considering adjusting some of its COVID-19 policies. None of these changes are currently in effect but are under consideration. Case numbers are falling in Alaska, and we're keeping a close eye on transmission levels. Should they drop below "substantial" for seven consecutive days, UAA will likely move toward a less restrictive mask policy.

Blue disposable masks available

EHSRMS is making blue disposable masks available to the UAA community. In addition to current distribution points, masks for individual use will be available at the following locations: Student Union Information Desk; and the Consortium Library main circulation desk.

Faculty and students researching ice loss, climate change, geothermal energy and more will receive funding from the ConocoPhillips Arctic Science and Engineering Endowment Award program. The annual award is one of the largest in the University of Alaska system.
