March 31, 2007: Give the gift of life at Blood Drive

There is currently a shortage of blood donors in Alaska. You can give the gift of life on March 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the LIFE mobile at Lowe's near O'Malley. Donating blood is safe, simple and saves lives. To be eligible to donate blood you must be between 18 and 74, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in overall good health. The process is simple and usually takes about an hour, followed by free juice and cookies. Bring photo ID and be able to list all prescription medications taken recently.  It is recommended that you eat a good meal and drink plenty of liquid before you give.  Visit www.bloodbankofalaska.org for more information.
