Spring 2007: UAA Interim Chancellor Named

President Mark Hamilton announced that Fran Ulmer, current Director of UAA's
Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER), former mayor, legislator
and lieutenant governor, will serve as UAA's interim chancellor.  Ulmer's
transition between ISER and the Office of the Chancellor will take place
over the next six weeks.  The interim appointment, which is effective
immediately, is expected to last for two years.  UAA's outgoing chancellor,
Elaine P. Maimon, will assist in the transition as needed.
