Spring 2007: UAA University Singers performance

The University Singers of the UAA Music Department will present an evening concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26 in the UAA Fine Arts Building Recital Hall.  This concert will feature exquisite choral music of the sacred and secular genres encompassing several centuries, including selections from Charpentier's famous Te Deum, choral pieces by Mendelssohn, Britten, Alec Rowley, John Farmer and James Mulholland, and arrangements of American folk songs by Aaron Copland.

The concert will be led by Tai-Wai Li, who has previously served as Assistant Conductor of the University of Illinois Chorale and Oratorio Society and Choral Director at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Mr. Li has conducted numerous concerts around the world, including appearing as a guest conductor of UAA's University Sinfonia in Spring 2006.  He has served as Conductor of Anchorage Civic Orchestra since 2005.

Tickets are available at the UAA Fine Arts Building Box Office (786-4TIX), or by visiting the box office (call for hours of operation).  Advance tickets are $2 UAA Student; $5 seniors, students, and military; $10 general admission.  Day of performance, tickets are $7 UAA Students; $10 seniors, students, and military; $15 general admission.
