The UAA Idea Bank program announces grand prize winners
The University of Alaska Anchorage's (UAA) Idea Bank is proud to announce its two
grand prize winners for their constructive submissions. The winning ideas - both involving
UAA gift cards - are considered a "tie." The winners will split the grand prize of
two Alaska Airlines tickets to anywhere in the Continental U.S.
The Idea Bank is designed to collect questions, comments and suggestions from UAA
students, faculty and staff. The program's goal is to help UAA continue making improvements
to its university policies and procedures, making UAA a better place to learn, work,
live and play.
Winning Idea #1:
Submitted by: Tina Veldkamp, Conference Services Manager
"A UAA Gift Card - you see gift cards everywhere you go except UAA. I think it would
be a great idea to make gift cards and have them available at the campus bookstore,
local grocery stores and coffee houses, and other locations around Anchorage. It's
a great gift idea and another way to generate revenue for UAA. There are a lot of
UAA fans in our community and why not give them the opportunity to purchase these
to give as gifts and bring more of our community to UAA's campus?"
Winning Idea #2:
Submitted by: Tammera Wagner-Loomis, Human Services Student
"I would like to see generic Gift WOLFcards that can be loaded with WOLFbucks that
anyone can use at venues where student specific WOLFcards are used."
What UAA is doing: "These are very good suggestions. In fact, WOLFcard office staff
is currently working on a process for creating and selling gift cards. In the meantime
there is another option currently available. Anyone can get a Guest Card from the
WOLFcard office or a copy card from the Value Transfer Machine in the library. WOLFbucks
can be deposited to these cards just as they are deposited on the regular student
or staff WOLFcards. The cards can be used at all venues that accept WOLFbucks."
The Idea Bank is looking for suggestions that improve the efficiency of a department,
program or procedure; improve services that support the university; eliminate unnecessary
procedures or duplication or effort; and save time, money or materials.
