Appropriate Technology Design Competition winner

Dr. Jesse Owens, Associate Professor in Biological Sciences Department and WWAMI faculty member earned the 1st place award in the international Appropriate Technology Design Competition. This award is given by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Ten finalists were selected and their designs were evaluated by the Special Interest Group on International Appropriate Technology at the annual meeting in mid June. Jesse's design for a Hand Powered Elevator for Wheel Chair Users was selected as the winner. Please congratulate Jesse on this well-deserved award.
