Minnijean Brown Trickey: Return to the Little Rock Nine Lecture

Just two days after the 50th anniversary of one of the most important days in the history of the Civil Rights Movement in the United States, Minnijean Brown Trickey will speak about her experinces in 1957 as one of the nine children, now referred to as the Little Rock Nine, who integrated Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The talk takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 27 at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium on the University of Alaska campus. During her lecture she will be outlining her struggles as a young black female in the segregated south during 1957 and the struggle for social equality in society today. This event is recommended for all adults and children ages 10 and older. It is sponsored by UAA Student Activities and is free. Reservations are recommended and available at UAAtix.com .
