UAA nursing professor to serve on 2008 AWHONN Board of Directors

The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) recently announced that Jill Janke, University of Alaska Anchorage nursing professor, has been elected to serve on the 2008 AWHONN Board of Directors.AWHONN is a nonprofit membership organization representing more than 22,000 health care professionals in the United States, Canada and abroad.  Members are committed to delivering superior, evidence-based health care to newborns and women throughout the lifespan.  They put the "caring" into health care and are true advocates for their patients' best interests.
 
"As a board member I hope to promote AWHONN activities that will continue to help nurses throughout the country, including underserved areas as those in Alaska, do what they do best, provide high quality, evidence-based patient care," said Janke.  "AWHONN has become the standard bearer for best practices and continuing nurse education for the care of women and newborns.  I look forward to serving on AWHONN's governing body and contributing to advancing its outstanding work."
