Gravity sensing plants

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Everyone is welcome to attend the free (parking too) lecture by Dr. Ben Harrison on Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m. in SSB 118. Harrison will be giving a talk about Gravity Sensing and Signaling in Roots of Arabidopsis Thaliana. Plants have evolved gravitropic behavior, the ability to sense and respond to gravity in order to maintain the upward growth of shoots and the downward growth of roots. Even Darwin studied this behavior. This seminar will focus on the roles that the Arabidopsis genes play in root gravity signaling.
