UAA Concert Board presents 14th Annual A Cappella Festivella

The University of Alaska Anchorage Concert Board proudly presents the 14th Annual A Cappella Festivella, featuring Vybration and the SoCal VoCals, Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium. A Cappella Festivella is a UAA tradition that brings some of the nation's best voices to Anchorage and is fun for the whole family. Also this year, A Cappella Festivella is part of UAA's Homecoming Week.
Vybration was formed in 2001 to perform at Disney's California Adventure under the name "Groove 66."  The band became the park's most popular atmosphere group, and it was not long before they were performing every day of the week, year round.  In fact, there were times when the group needed to be in three places at once: in the park doing their show, at a private event elsewhere in the Disneyland resort, and performing elsewhere in Southern California.  For more information on Vybration visit http://www.vybration.net/.

The SoCal VoCals hail from the University of Southern California.  The group met for the first time in February 1996.  After a few months of rehearsals the VoCals made their first public performance in March of 1996.  Eleven years later the group has traveled the country playing in many different states and will make their first trip to Alaska for A Cappella Festivella.  For more information on SoCal VoCals visit http://www.scvocals.com/.

This year's Festivella also welcomes local group Batteries Not Included and UAA's very first a cappella group AK Chill.

Tickets are available at www.uaatix.com or by calling the UAA Student Union Information Desk at (907) 786-1204.  For more information on the 14th Annual A Cappella Festivella, please contact Concert Board Coordinator Zac Clark at (907) 786-1210 or zac@uaa.alaska.edu.
