What are the implications of recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions, including those in 2006-07 dealing with the balance of power in wartime, desegregation, and the environment? Guest speakers will take up this topic in a panel discussion at the Campus Bookstore 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. The speakers are Carol Comeau, superintendent of the Anchorage School District; attorney Mara Kimmel, UAA Political Science Dept.; and local attorney Douglas Pope, a trial and appellate lawyer who has practiced before both the U.S. Supreme Court and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Dr. Diane Hirshberg (ISER;COE/UAA) will moderate. For more, call Rachel Epstein at 786-4782.
