Seminars for small-business professionals

UAA's Small Business Development Center is offering two seminars this week to assist those who run a small business or wish to start one. "Employer Payroll Taxes," 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Department of Labor, 3301 Eagle St., Anchorage, is a free seminar conducted in partnership with the IRS and Dept. of Labor to help small business employers understand their employment tax responsibilities. Discussion will emphasize proper preparation of employer tax forms and federal tax deposits. "Starting a Business," 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Small Business Development Center, 430 W. 7th Ave., Suite 110, will cover the essentials in small-business start-up, with successful community professionals sharing their stories.
