Message From the Chancellor

I am so pleased to announce that Bill Spindle has accepted the permanent post of vice chancellor for administrative services at UAA. For the last six months Bill has served as interim in this role and done an outstanding job. He has deservedly earned the trust and confidence of not only his unit, but also of his colleagues within the MAU and Statewide, UAA governance leaders and Anchorage community leaders.

Prior to serving as interim vice chancellor for administrative services, Bill served as director of business services at UAA for eight years. Bill has more than 29 years of experience leading and managing organizations, including 17 years in executive level positions in the public sector. He is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and continues to teach business-related courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Bill earned a doctorate in education from the University of La Verne, in Southern California, earlier this year.

In this permanent role, Bill will continue to oversee the administrative services division of UAA that includes the Budget and Finance, Human Resources, Athletics, UAA Facilities, University Police and Business Services groups.
