2008 UAA Research and Graduate Studies Symposium Call for Project Descriptions and Abstracts

Attention Faculty and Students:

The Graduate Student Association of the University of Alaska Anchorage is currently accepting abstracts and descriptions of projects for the 2008 UAA Graduate Studies and Research Symposium. The symposium will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the North and South Cafeteria of the Student Union on the UAA campus. The purpose of this symposium is to highlight the advanced studies and projects conducted at UAA by students and faculty. This is a great opportunity to share your work with the UAA and Anchorage communities. We encourage students from all schools and colleges within UAA to present their work. We will make every reasonable effort to include presentations from every discipline.

We will also have information booth space available for departments and agencies wishing to provide information regarding their programs.

Abstracts and descriptions of projects from all disciplines are being accepted provided that at least one contributor is a UAA student (graduate or undergraduate). Preference will be given to applications, that have a student as the primary contributor.

Abstract/Description Guidelines:
+ 300-word limit (not including title, authors (if applicable) and affiliations).
+ Indicate your presentation preference: oral, poster or other format.
+ Also indicate times on March 27 when you would prefer to present, as well as times that you would not be able to present.
+ Provide your name and contact information including address, telephone number and e-mail address.
+ Oral presentations will typically be limited to 15 minutes (including time for questions). Please indicate if additional time is desired for your presentation. Additional time will be granted if available. An LCD projector will be available.
+ Abstracts/Descriptions are due no later than Feb. 29, 2008 at 5 p.m. by e-mail to gsa@uaa.alaska.edu.
+ Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail no later than March 7, 2008 at 5 p.m.
