Icicle Seafoods gives UAA $200,000

Icicle Seafoods, Inc., founded in Petersburg in 1965 and currently one of the largest seafood processors in Alaska, has donated $200,000 to the University of Alaska Anchorage. The donation includes $150,000 in support of expanded research and educational programs related to the state's seafood industry, as well as funding to UAA branch campuses in Homer and Kodiak. The money will establish the Icicle Fisheries Fund at UAA's Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER), said Gunnar Knapp, Ph.D., professor of economics at UAA and an ISER researcher.
