What, Where, Who (5 of 10)

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Today's question is: What were the original call letters of KRUA, the campus radio station, and when did it first go on the air?

Respond by e-mail to ayalum@uaa.alaska.edu with your answer. And play again tomorrow!

Yesterday's question, "Who is the father of the UAA Athletics program, and the grandfather of a world-class athlete," was answered correctly by Kathy Woohead in the UAA History Department. Lewis Haines was the father of the UAA Athletics program and grandfather to Kikkan Randall.

February is UAA's birthday month and we're "Celebrating UAA's Past." For the next several weeks we will remember the people and events that have made UAA a leading university, and we want you to join in playing the "What, Where, Who" game. Every day for the next six days we will have a question about UAA's past (the combined history of ACC and UAA). "What, Where, Who" is open for all UAA staff, students, faculty, alumni and retirees to play.

Chancellor Ulmer invites all faculty, students, staff, alumni, retirees and interested folks to a reception on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the UAA Archives (Consortium Library 3rd Floor) where we will remember UAA's accomplishments--and the contest winner will be announced. First prize is lunch for six at the fabulous Cuddy Center Dining Room! So answer as many questions as you can--the facts may surprise you!
