What, Where, Who (7 of 10)

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Today's question is: The reorganization of the UA system, which included the merger of ACC and UAA, was announced on the UAA campus on a holiday. Which holiday was it, and in what year?

Respond by e-mail to ayalum@uaa.alaska.edu with your answer. And play again tomorrow!

"What, Where, Who" is open for all UAA staff, students, faculty, alumni and retirees to play.

Friday's winner is Cheryl Mann who answered "Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies in 1972" to, "UAA has 16 recognized Center and Institutes. Which one was first established specifically at UAA, and when?"

Chancellor Ulmer invites all faculty, students, staff, alumni, retirees and interested folks to a reception on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the UAA Archives (Consortium Library 3rd Floor) where we will remember UAA's accomplishments--and the contest winner will be announced. First prize is lunch for six at the fabulous Cuddy Center Dining Room! So answer as many questions as you can--the facts may surprise you!

For the next several weeks we will remember the people and events that have made UAA a leading university, and we want you to join in playing the "What, Where, Who" game. Every day for the next four days we will have a question about UAA's past (the combined history of ACC and UAA).
