UAA invites all interested faculty to apply for the fourth week-long intensive to develop the next cohort of faculty leaders with enhanced skills for encountering controversy in the classroom. Following on the highly successful intensives held the last two years in conjunction with APU, the program will introduce a variety of approaches for fostering constructive classroom dialogues. The overall goal of the effort is to engage faculty and students in constructive dialogue about sensitive political, religious, racial and cultural issues.

The next intensives are scheduled for May 7-9 and May 12-13. Faculty Fellows will receive a $1,000 stipend. Participation is limited so apply now.

DEADLINE for APPLICATIONS (EXTENDED): Friday, March 28, 2008 at 5 p.m.

Complete applications are available on the CAFE Web site at www.uaa.alaska.edu/cafe.
