Prof. Steve Colt, Director of UAA's Institute of Social and Economic Research, will present a talk on "Making the Most of Our Environmental Resources" tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Anchorage Museum. Colt, whose doctoral dissertation at MIT dealt with the profitability of Alaska's ANCSA corporations, started UAA's environmental studies program. His talk will consider Alaska's "environmental crown jewels" from an economic perspective: do our forests and mountains represent more value in situ, or as 2x4s and gold jewelry?
