Re-Written in the Stars second chance prom and literary cotillion

by Kathleen McCoy  |

The Department of Creative Writing and Literary Arts is seeking items, services or fun experiences to auction as part of the upcoming second chance prom and literary cotillion. The event, "Re-Written in the Stars," is a benefit for the department's Jason Wenger Memorial Writing Award and its new Northern Renaissance Arts & Sciences Series. The prom will be held April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Snow Goose Restaurant and Brewery.

In addition to interesting or artsy items, the department is looking for people in the university community who are willing to donate some of their expertise or talents. Examples include an interpretive walk or experience, lunch with someone at the heart of the university's workings, or lessons in music, cooking, languages, art, sports and so on.

Entertainment includes raffles, a silent auction, an online auction and a live auction led by the evening's emcee, Mr. Whitekeys. The evening includes music by the band Stray Dogma.

Tickets for the event are available now at the department and at Title Wave Books at $20 per individual, $35 per couple and $15 for students. Raffle tickets for prizes large and small are available at $2 each or six for $10.

Please submit auction items to the CWLA office by April 4.
