Join the UAA Theatre and Dance Department for a full weekend of dance presentations, classes, concerts, open dancing, and a "So You Think You Can Dance, Alaska?" competition. Everyone is invited, especially those new to dance. Try a new style of dance, cheer for your favorite dancer, see a dance concert, all are welcome!

Friday, April 25 (opening night) events are free!
5-7 p.m. in the Student Union Den

7-9 p.m. in the Student Union Cafeteria
"So You Think You Can Dance, Alaska?" competition open to all styles of dance

All dance classes will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. These will take place at the UAA Professional Studies Building, room 162 and UAA Fine Arts Building, room 220.

There are over 20 different dance classes with professional instructors from the Anchorage area, as well as Homer and Fairbanks. Class offerings will include Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Swing, Tango, Waltz, Salsa, Afro-Cuban, Belly Dance, Contact Improvisation, Hip Hop, English Morris Dance, HoopDance, Dance for Musical Theatre, and more. All classes are open to all levels of experience.

Cost per class is $10 or $7 with UAA student ID. Class discount cards are also available $35 for five classes or $70 for 10 classes ($25 and $50 for UAA students). There is no need to pre-register, just show up early before class and pay at the door.

Festival concerts on Saturday and Sunday night will feature a variety of local performers including Sudarushka Russian Folk Ensemble, Alaska Dance Theatre, UAA Dance Ensemble, Ritmovida Dance Partnership, Anchorage Ballet, Underground Dance Company, Dance Spectrum Alaska, East High Contempo, West High Dancers, Nomadia Dance Company, Children's Dance Theatre, Sonja's School of Dance and more! Concert programs will start at 8 p.m. and will be different each night. These will take place in UAA Arts Building, room 220. Tickets are $10 or $5 w/UAA student ID, available at the door.
