KIN event: Exploring Education

by Kathleen McCoy  |

Join the UAA Alumni Association this Thursday, April 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the Performing Arts Center's Skybridge to mingle and discuss education in Anchorage and throughout the state of Alaska as part of the monthly "Knowledge Industry Network" series. What's most important for us when we think of educating future Alaskans? How do we address a looming teacher shortage? What can we do to make education a priority down in Juneau?

Bring your thought of the day for Barbara Brown's KSKA 91.1 segment, "Hold this Thought," a daily, 1-minute radio show that airs 8:38 a.m. and 7 p.m. every weekday. It's a thought from literature, history or culture to inspire reflection and conversation--thoughts that linger after they're heard. Bring your favorite passage/quote (and its source) about the value of education on Thursday.

The "Exploring Education" event features the music of Marian Call. Appetizers will be provided and there will be a no-host bar. Bring your business cards for door prizes.
