Stephen Haycox elevated to Distinguished Professor

Prof. Stephen Haycox of the UAA Department of History has been appointed by Mark. R. Hamilton, president of the University of Alaska, as Distinguished Professor. The appointment took effect recently in recognition, said Pres. Hamilton, of Dr. Haycox's "accomplishments and contributions to the University of Alaska, to his discipline, and to our state."
Prof. Haycox is dedicated to his job and his students, the Provost wrote to Chancellor Ulmer, and is "preparing them to know and understand issues facing our state and nation today."
